About the Farmstead
The farm dates back to the 1900’s where the locals came to purchase their milk, cheese, and meat. Currently owned by John and Sheri Crenshaw who are restoring to its historical roots as a working farm.
The original owners were Dr Adin & Lilly Rucker. The Biggerstaffs bought it from the Ruckers, & we purchased in 2013. See pictures below for some of the people who once lived here.

Nubian Goat Mamas
The Nubian is a large breed of dairy goat. Nubians have long, bell-shaped ears that extend an inch beyond the face, and small upturned tails. Their fur is short and glossy and can come in a variety of colors including black, tan and red.
This breed is named for the country of its origin in the upper Nile Valley (Nubia). The Nubian is the most popular breed of dairy goat in the United States. Nubians were first brought to this country in 1896. A dairy goat can produce about one gallon of milk a day, about 1/4 the amount a dairy cow can produce.
Nena the Fainting Goat
Nena is our fainting goat. A myotonic goat, otherwise known as the fainting goat, is a domestic goat whose muscles freeze for roughly 10 seconds when the goat feels panic. Though painless, this generally results in the animal’s collapsing on its side and falling over. It could take several seconds for them to regain movement.
Highland Cows
Highlands are a heritage breed that dates back to the 6th century BC from Scotland. They are known for their shaggy hair, and friendly demeanor. Join one of our tours to learn more.
